Limer Driving Academy - providing Trailer Training throughout the North West

Limer Driving Academy offers a training course for individuals or people working for companies. We will teach you in accordance with the Driver and Vehicles Standards Agency recommendations to make sure you have the correct entitlement for "Towing a trailer"

All drivers who passed a car test on or after the 1st January 1997 are now required to pass an additional driving test in order to tow large trailers and gain entitlement to Category B+E and all larger vehicles. Category B vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes MAM and with up to 8 passenger seats may be coupled with a trailer up to 750KGS MAM (allowing a combined weight of up to 4.25 tonnes MAM) Or a trailer over 750KGS MAM provided the MAM of the trailer does not exceed the unladen weight of the towing vehicle, and the combination does not exceed 3.5 tonnes MAM.

Limer Driving Academy offers the following courses:

6 hour course which includes the following. Off road, reverse manoeuvre, uncoupling and coupling of a trailer. Driving on the road and Vehicle Safety Questions. Test fee and test time included. This course is only available for someone who has FAILED a B+E test within the last 30 days proof will be required.
12 hour course which includes the following. Off road, reverse manoeuvre, uncoupling and coupling of a trailer. Driving on the road and Vehicle Safety Questions. Test fee and test time included. Must have some towing experience
18 hour course which includes the following. Off road, reverse manoeuvre, uncoupling and coupling of a trailer. Driving on the road and Vehicle Safety Questions. Test fee and test time included. This course is for someone with no towing experience
